CAFS Curriculum
CAFS offers a comprehensive sustainable food and agriculture law and policy program with residential, online learning, and summer courses at Vermont Law and Graduate School. Students can also gain clinical training in our Food and Agriculture Clinic, one of the few law school clinics in the nation devoted to the food system.

JD Concentration in Food and Agriculture Law »
Vermont Law and Graduate School offers a systems-based curriculum to students who want to specialize in law and policy related to the food system. JD students specializing in Food and Agriculture Law can choose from an expansive list of courses related to food and agriculture.
LLM in Food and Agriculture Law »
Designed for students who have already earned a JD from a U.S. law school or an equivalent degree in another country, the LLM in Food and Agriculture Law offers practical training for students specializing in law and policy related to sustainable food and agriculture systems.
Master of Public Policy, Food and Agricultural Policy Track »
The MPP degree is designed to provide students the tools necessary to understand and solve complex issues related to public policy. MPP students can choose the Food and Agricultural Policy Track to work with CAFS faculty to develop their advocacy skills in the dynamic area of food and agriculture policy.
Online Learning »
Students can earn a Master of Public Policy or LLM in Food and Agriculture Law online, or they can take food and agriculture law and policy courses online as a non-degree-seeking student. Vermont Law and Graduate School also offers an Online Hybrid JD with a mixture of online classes and brief in-person sessions.
Food and Agriculture Clinic »
Through the Food and Agriculture Clinic, residential JD, Master's, and LLM students refine their legal research and writing, communication, and project management skills while working with local, regional, and national partners and clients to develop and disseminate legal resources for food systems stakeholders.
